First Day of Semester 2

Hello Danforth Families!

As announced previously, yesterday was the first of two opportunities to review your exams and final marks with your Semester 1 teacher, but not the last. As a result of the conflict with the Lunar New Year (a happy New Year to those celebrating), there is a second opportunity scheduled for tomorrow, after your first day of Semester 2 classes.

A reminder that the schedule for tomorrow is as follows:

January 31 - First Day of Semester 2

Follow your Semester 2 Timetable

Special Schedule

P1- 9:00 - 10:00

P2 - 10:05 - 11:05

Lunch - 11:05 - 12:05

P3 - 12:05 - 1:05

P4 - 1:10 - 2:10 (dismissal)

Special Marks Return Window (for those who missed January 29)

2:15-3:15

Semester 2 Timetables

By now you should have received your Semester 2 timetables in an email. If you didn't, or if you need a physical copy, please come to the attendance office to request one. Timetables are also available in the TDSB Connects App.

Special Marks Return Window

Teachers are staying in their classrooms at the end of the last period, and students will need to seek them out if they still need to review the final exam marks or receive their final course grade for Semester 1 classes. To find where your Semester 1 teacher is, check this list: Where's My Teacher?

Please note that many teachers have changed classrooms and teaching assignments for Semester 2, so you will need to check the list to know where to find them. Some teachers have also started jobs at other schools, or retired from the TDSB. If your teacher is not on the list, please send them an email, or check with your vice principal. We will do our best to assist you.

When are the Report Cards coming?

Report cards are being finalized as we speak, but it take a little time to review them and prepare them for transmission. We expect report cards will be emailed home during the week of February 10. If you need a physical copy, please inquire in the attendance office. We'd be happy to print and sign a physical copy as well.

Starting the Semester Off Right

New Semester, New Beginnings. Whatever may have happened last semester is now in the rearview mirror, and new classes, teachers, classmates and opportunities lie before you. It can be a little intimidating to make a fresh start, but it can be rewarding too. Don't have your favourite teacher this semester? How do you know you haven't just met your *new* favourite teacher? Your best friend is in a different class? Well how do you know...? Just kidding. They're still your best friend, but maybe you'll meet other awesome people too and expand your social circle! Every new beginning brings new opportunities to make things better, and we've asked staff to do just that in their classes. Be ready tomorrow to make some connections, contribute to the establishment of classroom routines and expectations, and start building a community of learners.

Just keep those cell phones tucked away. Good first impressions and all that.

Have a great start to Semester 2 Danforth!
