Relay for Life 2026!
Hey Danforth Community,
Relay for Life is back again for another year! This year is going to be
bigger, louder, and more meaningful than ever before.
Relay for Life is a school-wide fundraising event dedicated to supporting
the Canadian Cancer Society and helping transform the future
of cancer. Students participate in teams, raising funds leading up to the event
and taking part in a full day of activities, community building, and
reflection.
This year’s event will take place on Friday, May 22nd, from 9:00 AM to
4:00 PM.
The Canadian Cancer Society is a non-profit organization committed to
improving the lives of those affected by cancer through life-saving research,
support services for patients and families, and advocacy for better prevention
and care. Events like Relay for Life play a vital role in making this work
possible.
At Danforth, our goal this year is to raise $50,000, and we need the support
of our entire community to make that happen.
Throughout the event, students will:
· Participate in team-based fundraising efforts
· Take part in games, music, and school-wide activities
· Walk the track in support of those affected by cancer
· Honour loved ones during a meaningful luminary ceremony
Each student is encouraged to raise a minimum of $50, and many will be
reaching out to family and friends for support.
How you can help:
- Encourage your child to participate
- Support your child’s fundraising efforts by donating - Share their
fundraising page with friends and family - Help spread awareness within your
community - Donate a prize for our top fundraisers! - Join our event as a
survivor
Every dollar raised goes directly toward funding cancer research, improving
support programs, and bringing us closer to a future where no one has to fear a
cancer diagnosis.

Thank you for your continued support in making this event impactful for our
students and meaningful for our community.
Best regards,
Danforth Relay for Life Committee
